Establishment of the Homa Foundation Relief Fund to support those in need

In the autumn of 1400 AH, as the economic situation of the people had deteriorated significantly due to political changes, the Homa Foundation established the “Homa Foundation Relief Fund.” This fund received donations from benefactors around the world and, through a defined mechanism, identified vulnerable and low-income families in Almitoo, Jaghori, and Kabul, and distributed assistance to them. Due to the trust built in the Homa Foundation, the fund was warmly received by donors. In the same year, it collected over 1.5 million Afghanis and distributed it among 230 low-income families. In order to preserve the dignity and privacy of the recipient families, no photographs were taken during the distribution process. Reports were shared only with donors to ensure transparency and accountability.

Call for Contributions to the Homa Foundation Relief Fund

Let us be each other’s support in difficult times!

  1. With the harsh winter adding to already difficult living conditions, many of our people are facing severe economic hardship. Several families are unable to afford basic food supplies and winter necessities. On one hand, the prices of essential goods have sharply increased, and on the other, unemployment and financial instability have reached alarming levels. Drought has also left those who once depended on their harvests discouraged and uncertain. There seems to be neither a path to escape nor a hand to turn to. The current situation truly reflects the saying, “the ground is hard and the sky is distant.” Hunger looms from all directions, and the burden of winter expenses has only added to existing struggles.

  2. In response to these conditions, the Homa Foundation has established a fund so that every generous person, from any part of the world, can take a step - whether through action, support, or donation - to help save a fellow human being from hunger. The members of the Homa Foundation, as they have consistently acted on principles of honesty and voluntary service, remain committed to these values in managing this fund and assure all donors that they will serve as a reliable bridge between contributors and those in need. Therefore, we sincerely invite all those who are able to help to stand with their people during these difficult times.

  3. Method of identifying eligible families and individuals

Method of identifying eligible families and individuals A form is prepared by the Homa Foundation in which clear criteria are defined. Anyone meeting these conditions will be considered eligible for assistance. For identifying needy families in Almitoo, assistance will be sought from school teachers. Once the forms for eligible individuals and families are completed, they are verified and signed by the teacher of the respective area or village. The teacher confirms the accuracy of the information provided and takes responsibility for its correctness. Finally, the Homa Foundation compiles the final list of eligible families, and assistance is distributed from the collected funds in the relief fund.

Donors who contribute to this fund are acknowledged by the Homa Foundation, and with their consent, their names may be published on the foundation’s Facebook page.

Special cash assistance to teachers of Almitoo schools

In 1400 AH, due to the suspension of teachers’ salaries following political changes in Afghanistan, many teachers and education staff in Almitoo faced severe financial difficulties in meeting their daily needs and supporting their families. Through the Homa Foundation Relief Fund, efforts were made to address this issue as well. The matter was shared with donors, and fortunately, a benefactor named “Nemat Qasemi,” later known as the “Great Supporter of Education,” provided financial support covering an entire round of assistance for all 44 teachers working in Almitoo schools.
